You don't need an account

Sun Miguel has no sign-up. Drink prices, sun reports, flags and suggested outlines are sent anonymously: we don't store a name, an account or your IP address with anything you add. Please don't put personal details in the optional notes, because notes are shown publicly.

What our server keeps

Web server logs with IP addresses, to keep the site running and deal with abuse. Deleted after 7 days.
A short-lived count of recent requests per IP address, held in memory to stop spam and never written to disk.

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie is for our editors' sign-in.

Other services your browser talks to

The map loads its pictures directly from our satellite imagery provider (Esri or MapTiler) and OpenStreetMap (street map). Like any website, they see your IP address when they send them.

If you choose Draw it in OpenStreetMap, you're taken to openstreetmap.org, which has its own account and privacy policy; edits there are public.

Near me and favourites

Near me uses your location only inside your browser: it works out which pubs are close by itself, then asks our server how sunny those pubs are right now. Your coordinates are never sent to us. Favourites are saved in your browser on this device and never sent anywhere.
